HISTORY
Brooklyn Bridge Park is an 85-acre park on the Brooklyn side of the East River. The Park stretches from Jay Street (to the North) to Atlantic Avenue (to the South) in the Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO neighborhoods. Before renovations began in 2007, the six piers that are now part of the Park made up a port that had been in operation since 1642. The B61 and B63 buses serve the section of the Park near the Pier 5 fields, as does the Borough Hall train station (2/3/4/5 trains). Pier 6, just south of Pier 5 is a landing for the NYC Ferry’s South Brooklyn Route. The Clark (2/3) and High Street (A/C) train stations, as well as the B25 bus, and the NYC Ferry’s East River route serve the northern end of the Park.
