In the first official match since the COVID-19 outbreak, the Club's U-23 side opened up their debut with an emphatic 5-1 away victory over UPSL side Real New York. Led by Team Captain, Max Aken-Tyers, and featuring a mix of familiar faces and new signings such as 2004-born Nick Wilson and Kalif Grant, the U23's started off in perfect fashion, picking up a goal on the 15th-minute mark with a low driven shot by Club veteran Thriston Briscoe. Five minutes later, it was yet another club veteran, Nermin Buljubasic who sent a lovely curler in the back of the net after a silky combination play inside the opponent's 18-yard box. The team continued to dominate possession and maintained an upbeat tempo throughout the first half. In the 33rd minute, Kwadwo Kwashie picked up an absolute stunner of a goal after smashing the ball in the back of the net after a forty-yard solo run. It was USL League Two starlet Dylan Scanley who picked up his first goal for the club after slotting the ball in the back of the net after receiving a through pass from Defender Vincent Balsamo. By the end of the first half, FA Euro led Real New York 4-0 and were off to a victory. The Home Team did pick up a consolation goal on the 62nd minute, only for another debutant Alex Rodriguez to return the favor a few minutes later after besting the keeper on a 1-1 from a lethal counter-attack. With that, the U23's picked up 5 goals on their account with a 5-star performance and start the season off in near-perfect fashion.
The U23's will travel to City Park on September 27th to face off against Westchester Flames.
