Following a 4-2 victory against National Soccer Academy, FA Euro's U18's remain dominant over the league table. In what was a back-and-forth affair, supporters saw the debut and influence of PDL players Connor McGlynn and Jesse Rodrigues, who together, had one assist and three goals.
The game started and both teams came out of the gates with plenty of fire as each team tried to reign supremacy over the other. FA Euro slowly pushed into NSA territory as the pressure was building on net. After several shots and crucial opportunities, the game still remained scoreless. However this changed in the 32nd minute when NSA managed to score off of a cross which found its way in the back of the net passed goalkeeper Raymond Maglione. FA Euro would not allow themselves to be deterred, as they capitalized on a penalty which was committed on Enci Roci and scored cooly by Connor McGlynn just a minute before the end of the first half.
With the game now back to even and with full motivation, FA Euro managed to double the scoreline and bag themselves a second goal immediately in the second half. It was a wonder of a goal by Sory Konate who curled it passed the keeper and placed it in the top right corner of the net, leaving the man between the sticks no chance. The game went on and FA Euro began to really find their rhythm, following great plays and spectacular use of possession which almost led to numerous goal-scoring opportunities. But NSA returned the favor with a goal in the 71st minute to tie it up again. But once more, FA Euro retaliated immediately with a goal by Jesse Rodrigues, assisted by Jesse Lopez, it was a beautiful chip that skied miles above the keeper and found its way in goal. Rodriguez would bag himself a second goal, showing precise dribbling skill as he gracefully slipped passed the back four and didn't make a mistake when confronted by the keeper. With the scoreline now 4-2, FA Euro coasted their way to victory, cementing their first place position. The man of the match was the PDL's own Jesse Rodrigues who had one assist and two goals. With the help of several PDL players and FA Euro Veterans Alan Ponieman and Ben Miles, the U18s look well on their way to qualifying for nationals. Stay posted for more game updates and results.
