BROOKLYN, NY--Our PDL club (3-10-1) is back at it tonight as we take on the Evergreen Hammers (1-11-1) for the second and final time this season. Tonight also marks the final game of the 2017 season as well.
In the first game of the season, Euro traveled down to Leesburg, VA for their only overnight trip that started off the 2017 season with a 2-0 victory versus the rebuilding club in the Mid-Atlantic state of Virginia.
In that game, top defender Johan Mauritzon, who scored a goal and had an assist, was named PDL Player of the Week that has not happened for FA Euro in over 3 seasons. Which in most cases, would give the team high hopes on building something, after winning their opening matchup. Jason Lampkin was the other goal scorer in that game to put the final nail in the coffin on the Hammers.
Last night in Elizabeth, NJ. The PDL club was outshot 24-10 and out scored 7-1 in a performance against Jersey Express to be forgotten about by Monday. They look to rebound versus a needy Evergreen Hammers club this Sunday at St. John's University.
Tonight, both clubs have struggled in rebuilding seasons, but take each other on, in what should be a bitter matchup to not finish in last place in the Mid-Atlantic Division in the PDL.
Injury updates include an injured Alexis Santa, Nico Anderson, Brian McPartland who will not be playing in the final match of the season.
