USL League Two First Team player Marcus Gabrielli will travel to Italy at the end of May to trial with Italian Serie A sides ACF Fiorentina and Torino FC. The 2001, Brown University committed, defender will have a two week trial, with one week dedicated towards each club. Marcus made his USL League Two debut in the club's victory against Evergreen Hammers, in Leesburg on May 11th, coming on as a substitute for Tommaso Davico as a right back. He was a pivotal figure in the youth sector's Viareggio Cup outing, featuring in all matches of the prestigious competition.
USL League Two Head Coach Joe Balsamo comments on the momentous chance presented to the up and coming youth product. "It is opportunities like these are the epitome of what FA Euro is. The goal of the club is to help push players to the next level and we wish Marcus all the best of luck as he continues to chase his dream. He is a young, intelligent and talented player who possesses important qualities and has a very large margin of growth. He is very familiar with the Italian style of play and has improved tremendously in the demanding, tactical aspects required to have if one wants to play at a high level. He must remain serene and focused. I'm sure he will go there and make a very positive impression.
The entire club will like to wish Marcus the best of luck on this amazing opportunity. Forza Marcus!
