FA Euro Opens in Long Island, Westbury

OFFICIAL CLUB PRESS RELEASE: New York, Florida, and now, Long Island. FA Euro is thrilled to announce the opening of their newest location in Westbury. Johan Mauritzson, former professional player of Halmstads BK in Sweden, captain of FA Euro in USL League Two, and NCAA Student Athlete of the Year at Long Island University, has been appointed Technical Director of FA Euro Westbury and is very excited to announce the opening of the club's newest sector.

We will continue to create opportunities for players all over New York to be involved in our youth development program that have raised collegiate, as well as professional players in the United States and Europe.” - Johan Mauritzson, Technical Director


Johan Mauritzson has been appointed FA Euro Westbury Technical Director

FA Euro Westbury will focus on both recreational footballing activities and elite youth development. The latter will adhere to the clubs’ successful values on focusing developing the individual player towards playing on the highest level domestically and internationally. FA Euro Westbury players will have the chance to participate in local & travel teams, league play, national tournaments, international tours, and trials for our First Team in USL League Two. The recreational aspect of the club will see a dedicated program at teaching the FUNdamentals of the sport to children in a fun, safe and educational learning environment for both players and parents with camps, clinics, and local house league play. 


"The youngest age groups will be our primary objective as we start building the club and atmosphere. We have a terrific facility where players and parents can feel right at home. We will stress on working with home grown players for the long term. The club will be an extension of our operations here in Brooklyn, as both sectors will work hand in hand."- Joe Balsamo, President


In addition to the appointment of Johan Mauritzson as the club's Technical Director, FA Euro Westbury's senior management will be comprised of Joe Balsamo, Marco Balsamo, Carmine Posillico, and Giuseppe Luongo.


Having been involved with FA Euro at Viareggio, Giuseppe Luongo and Carmine Posillico will serve as senior management for FA Euro Westbury
