"Disastrous" First Half Sends Euro to Fourth Straight Loss

JAMAICA, NY---The FA Euro PDL club (1-4-0) falls to the New York Red Bulls U23 club (4-0-0) for their fourth consecutive loss of the season.

Ledula told I-95 Sports Network's Sam Odell, "We kept the ball well, we have to keep believing and the hardest part of in all of this is to stay positive in the situation we are in right now, but eventually everything will work out, if we stick to our system. We just have to be more clinical, that end product."

Red Bulls U23 and Fairlawn native Zach Knudson (#27/NCAA's Georgetown Hoyas) scored a natural hat trick which unfortunately, was the games only three goals of the evening. Two of those goals were assisted by midfielder Anderson Asiedu. (#10/Ghana) Regarding the U23 club for the Red Bulls, they came out with one mission, and one mission only. To get that fourth W of the season. And they achieved.

Morten Wenaas (#7) told I-95 Sports Network, "We started off, well, I don't know, but it seemed like the mentality was off. The first half was, dead. Like, we lacked the fire within us or something, and then second half, we came out, started poorly, but raised the levels, and got angry, and when Charlie got in, we started creating chances. We need to start and finish next weeks game the same way we finished this game, with fire."

FA Euro's play continues to concern some, most notably the front office, as they went another game without scoring a single goal. They extend the streak of scoreless play to four consecutive games, and a whopping total of 405 minutes, which includes stoppage time. Forward Charlie Ledula (#17) was not in the starting lineup vs. NYRB. Ledula came in during the 57', he came out with a man on a mission, where he put three of the teams nine shots on the board, unfortunately none going past the goalkeeper, Lundgaard for the Red Bulls.

Ledula said to Odell of I-95 SN after the game about not being put in the starting eleven. "It kind of humbled me a little bit, which is good, and motivated me at the same time, so, actually the moment I got on the field, I had to work extra harder, you know? I had a lot more to give, so it kind of ignited a fire in me, which is really good, really positive."

LIU Post's Brian McPartland gave up three goals on seven total shots in the game. Cannot blame him for all of the teams woes. Midfielder Jason Lampkin is still dealing with a knee injury that has kept him out of the lineup since the home opener back on May 25th, vs. Ocean City. Midfielder David Itoafa also may have played his last game in a Euro uniform as he has left the team due to undisclosed issues after logging 30 minutes vs. Red Bulls.

"A disastrous performance from the team in the first half, but then came out of the locker room limping by giving up that one goal, but then after that third goal which nailed the coffin shut, we looked like a team who should've been playing that exact way the entire 90. We need to come back and show that we want to win." - Joey Jarzynka, GM of the PDL club.

Keep up with injury updates via Twitter and Facebook throughout the entire week as we lead up to our rematch versus the New York Red Bulls U23 club.

The FA Euro PDL club has yet another tough task as they play host to the New York Red Bulls U23 for their second consecutive match against the Whippany, NJ club, at 7:30pm. Game will be played at Belson Stadium on the campus of St. John's University. Broadcasted on the I-95 Sports Network. (i95sportsnetwork.com)
